Originally a vacant public house owned by the Punch Taverns Group previously trading as The Spotted Cow, this property had main road frontage to New Hey Road, Huddersfield and after protracted negotiations we successfully acquired the Freehold.

The site was quite restricted in area so we entered into dialogue with the adjacent landowners which resulted in the successful purchase of a vacant parcel of land to the rear of the site more than doubling the developable footprint.

Now the site was attractive to a much larger democratic resulting in us being approached by all three of the main discount food retailers currently trading in the UK. At the same time we were approached by a prestigious residential house builder, Berkeley DeVeer of Leeds who made an unconditional offer for the site which we accepted.
